Sevacare Help to Spread Christmas Kindness in the Local Community
Staff from our Wednesbury branch were out in the Centre of Birmingham earlier this week, to help distribute food and clothing to the homeless. The evening involved making up food parcels which were donated by volunteers and local supermarkets, ready to be distributed. After the parcels were put together, the team went onto the streets to help distribute the donations to those living on the streets.
Mehwish Rehana (Care Cordinator) and Safa Britton (Care worker) also handed out Christmas cards which were kindly written by the staff at Wednesbury to spread some Christmas spirit.
Speaking of the evening, Mehwish said, “It was so difficult to see those lovely people struggling on a cold night in Birmingham and relying on donations. They were so polite and grateful to receive them. One young gentleman I spoke to promised not to open his one and only Christmas card, until Christmas Day.”
